All Rules will
be strictly implemented so please read and understand the following
section. Waivers will be available for download one week before
the race. Minors (below 18 years of age) MUST have their Waivers
signed by their parents or guardians.

I. INTRODUCTION |
| |

| |
These rules are
intended to govern Longboard Freestyle Competition held by the
Organizers (the “Event”). It is the express
responsibility of the competitors to read, understand and abide by
these rules and regulations.

| I.A. |
LIABILITY WAIVER: All riders shall sign a liability waiver before being allowed
to participate in the event.
|
| |
|
| |
The
entrant and/or rider, in signing the entry form for the event, elects
to use the track at their own risk, and thereby releases and forever
discharges the organizers, together with their heirs, assigns,
officers, representatives, agents, employees,
and participants from all liability from injury to person, property,
employees and/or reputation, that may be received by said entrant
and/or rider, and from all claims of said injuries to parties listed
above growing out of it, or resulting from the event contemplated under
the entry form, or caused by any construction or condition of the
course over which the event is held. |

PREGNANT WOMEN: Pregnant women are not allowed to compete. This restriction applies to practice, tests, qualifying and competition. |

APPEARANCE: All members competing in the event shall maintain a clean and
neat appearance. |

EVENT ELIGIBILITY: The Organizers reserve the right to set eligibility requirements
for entrants to the event |

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS: The minimum age to compete in the event
is 12 years old. A waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian if the rider is below
18 years old. |

| |
II. JUDGING AND CRITERIA |
| |
|
| |
Judges in their assigned duties must be familiar with all judging criteria
|
| |
|
| |
| II.A. |
PANEL
: A panel of five judges will be appointed by the Organizers to
score the competitors on the following criteria on equal weight
|
| |
|
| |
II.A.1. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: The
rider shows mastery over basic longboard dancing tricks. The
tricks are executed without hesitation and continuously. The
rider maintains control over his board at all times.
II.A.2 ORIGINALITY AND DIFFICULTY: This
criterion focuses on the difficulty of individual tricks of the rider
as well as the difficulty of chosen combinations. Tricks
that are not landed do not count for scoring purposes on this
category. Showing a command of the various disciplines in
Freestyle (flips, off board moves, slides and manuals) will attract a
premium.
II.A.3 STYLE: The
rider puts together a cohesive routine from start to finish that is
both dynamic and artistic, fully utilizing the potential of his
Longboard and the venue.

SCORING: A
routine may earn a maximum of 10 points, with increments of one-tenth
(1/10th) of a point. The scores of all judges are then
averaged for the final aggregate score for the run. |

STARTER: The
starter ensures that all competitors are present at the starting area
and gives the competitor the signal to commence his run (upon
completion of the preceding run). |

| II.D. |
COMPETITOR NUMBERS: All
competitors are required to wear their assigned numbers in plain view
of the judges during the competition. Failure to do so may result
in disqualification. |

III. PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT |
| |
|
| |
| III.A. |
HELMETS: Hard
shell is required. The helmet must be worn to the manufactures
recommendations. The helmet strap must be worn tight and secure as
designed.

OUTFIT AND PADDING: Knee pads, elbow pads and slide gloves are recommended but not required. |

IV. LONGBOARD SPECIFICATIONS |
| |
|
| |
No trickboards.
|
| |
|
| |
V. COMPETITION PROCEDURE |
| |
|
| |
| V.A. |
PRACTICE: The course will be open by 4.30 PM for competitors to practice their runs and begin qualifying at 6.30PM. |

|
| V.B. |
QUALIFYING: Open
qualifying will begin at 6.30 PM. Competitors will be allowed to
make continuous runs in the competition area while being viewed by the
judges. The judges will reach a consensus amongst themselves as
to the top 12 riders for men and top 6 for women in the
competition who will progress to the next round. |

ELIMINATION HEATS AND FINALS: |
| |
|
| |
ROUND OF TWELVE: Each
rider will be allowed one scoring runs in the order that they
qualified, provided that the second run will take place only after each
rider has finished their first scoring run. The top six riders on
aggregate score will advance to the finals. |

| |
FINALS:
Each rider shall be allowed two final scoring runs in the order of
their earlier score - from lowest to highest. The six finalists
for men and the top five for women shall be ranked on the basis of
their final scores and a winner declared. |

| V.D. |
START AREA: Competitors in the heat are required to stay at the start area on the top of the course while awaiting their runs |
| |
|
| V.E. |
RUN FORMAT: Competitors
will be required to make a run from the top of the course to the
“run out” area with a single uphill return (heading back to
the start area) during the run. However, the rider suffers no
penalty if the uphill return is foregone. Runs will only commence
upon the signal (audible) given by the starter. |

| V.F. |
COURSE OBSTACLES AND FEATURES: Competitors
are allowed and encouraged to use various course features and obstacles
that will be put into place during the event. This may include
mini-ramps, benches, pylons and limbo bars (hippie jumps). |

VI. EVENT POSTPONEMENT OR CANCELLATION: |
| |
|
| |
If
weather conditions, acts of God, war and/or darkness cause the course
to become unsafe during the running of an event. The race will be
delayed until conditions become more favorable. If conditions do not
become more favorable or if darkness occurs prior to the completion of
an event, the Organizers reserve the right to postpone or cancel the
race event
